Once the hammock has been dissembled from the pack, the next step to consider engaging is to un-tie the rope. At the end of the hammock, it has some sort of knot shape, and a belt tied across.

Once the rope has been loosed, you can consider adjusting the hammock sides, this is done by straightening up the squeeze, which often occurs at the end of the hammock. If you have aunty the belt, as stated in step 2, then, you should be able to easily get this step done.

  • Step 4: Place a Hook at The End of The Hammock

First, you need to consider removing the hook from the other rope, and consider joining the two hooks together, as seen in the picture below:

Once you have successfully carried out the instructions in step 4, then, you can consider hanging it to the corridor stud, in order to tie it up to the stud, you will have to consider using the hook.

The hook is flexible and can be opened, and as well, closed.

Method 2: Hanging an IKEA hammock on a Tree

The first method shows how to hang a hammock to a stud, in this method I will be showing you how to apply almost similar steps to hanging a hammock to a tree.

If you have read the above methods, then you can consider applying the same technique from Step 1 – Step 4, since hanging a hammock to a tree both takes similar steps, once that has been successfully done, you can consider the steps below:

  • Step 1: Look out for good trees suitable for the hammock

Check out suitable trees for your IKEA Hammock, it is important to note that not all trees can be considered appropriate when it comes to hanging a hammock.

How Far Apart Do Trees Need to Be for A Hammock?

Choosing how far both trees have to be, is an important factor that needs to be given optimum consideration. Now, you may wonder how far the length of the trees is to take.

Therefore, to choose the best length of the tree, choose trees that are 10 -15 feet apart, this will enable the hammock to be firm across both ends. If both trees don’t seem to be perfect then you can consider choosing another location.

How High Should I Hang My Hammock?

Choosing how high you should hang your hammock, depends largely on who is going to use the hammock, for kids, you need to consider a height lower. Also, the hammock you are using determines how high your hammock should be hung.

For hammocks with spreader bars, 4-5 feet/1.25 off the ground is the average distance for hanging the hammock, while for hammocks without spreader bars, 6 – 8 ft/1.8 -2.4m off the ground will be suitable.
